Jeff and Chris had known each other for sometime through different projects. In fact it was at the same venue, O'reillys, that he saw Gail, he first saw Chris playing with another indie pop rock outfit. But it was at the final 'Eastern Haze' music festival, playing in a prog rock band jeff noticed Chris' talent for creating guitar sounds, which he has transfered to a 12 string acoustic with great effect. Literally. Chris has also created the music for several of Big Red Boats songs such as, Sundowner, Numbers and Will i Be, from their debut album, and more recently on new material for BRB's soon to be released EP 'Brave The Dark' with the songs Driving The Rain and Heart Of An Empty Man. It is also widely agreed that Chris has also given Big Red Boat the sound they are becoming popular for. He has also taken up the Mandolin which has been used several songs now.
