Jeff Long

Jeff first had the idea for an acoustic based band when running an open mic night in the local music venue, O'reillys, in 2000. And it was while listening to members of a local folk rock band 'Murphys Lore' Jeff soon realised the appeal of acoustic music. It was also around this time he first saw Gail, singing with an indie pop band. But more of that later.

It wasn't until the winter of 2007 that the idea re-emerged, while sitting with long time buddy, Glenn, in a freezing but inspiring top floor apartment writing songs. So with an albums worth of material, Jeff went in search for the people that would eventually become Big Red Boat.
